Trip to Riga – an International meeting of the EU4ART Alliance
The delegates of the EU4ART Alliance’s partner institutions visited Latvijas Mākslas Akadēmia in Riga, where intensive discussions were held to fine-tune the future perspectives of our cooperation and to finalise agreements on the terms and conditions of our cooperation at all working group levels. Some key issues had to be discussed during the live meetings, which was also motivated by the joyful occasion that the short- and long-term mobility programmes had reached an important stepping stone. We have finally reached the stage when the actual trips unfold and the eventful period of building personal networks begins. The activities of the working groups were followed by a summary, and then, thanks to our Latvian hosts, the Hungarian delegation was able to get an insight into some of the exciting happenings of the local art scene. The delegation had the opportunity to visit an exhibition in the premises of a railway station in Jūrmala, on the Baltic coast, which was realised as a collaboration between the Latvian Academy and Central Saint Martins (UAL) in London. In the experimental gallery, Pilot, the partners gained an insight into a project organised by the Latvian institution, showcasing some of the distinctive perspectives of contemporary Latvian art. The next stages of the dialogue, which will unfold in formal and informal settings, will take place in Budapest, in the early days of November.
