4. SUPPORT
The amount of the Erasmus+ grant varies from country to country and is determined by the European Commission. In accordance with the European rules of the Erasmus programme, the University calculates the grant for the exact days of mobility (i.e. it is reduced proportionally for incomplete months) and transfers it in euros.
Important The grant is a contribution towards the costs incurred abroad and does not necessarily cover the full cost of travel and stay abroad in all cases. Students who are disadvantaged for economic, social or health reasons may apply for additional support at the same time as submitting their Erasmus application. The method of applying for supplementary support and the eligibility criteria are available in a separate call for applications:
Supplementary financial support for equal opportunities for students participating in foreign mobility under the Erasmus+ programme
Call for applications for additional financial support for students and staff with disabilities or long-term illnesses participating in the Erasmus+ programme

5. GENERAL CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
- The sending and receiving higher education institutions must hold an ECHE certificate.
- The student is a Hungarian citizen or is pursuing a degree at the institution, has student status at the HUFA at the time of application, and agrees to maintain active student status during their studies abroad.
- Departure is possible at the earliest in the second year of higher education studies.
- The study period can be combined with professional practice. A combined period means that the professional practice must take place under the supervision of the same host higher education institution where the student is studying; the two activities must take place consecutively. The support amounts for the "combined period" are the same as the rates for the study period.
- The total mobility period in a training cycle is a maximum of 12 months, or 24 months in the case of undivided training (even if it is zero grant mobility). Mobility previously completed under the LLP must also be added (even if it is zero grant mobility)!
What happens after the applications have been evaluated?
- Following the evaluation, the International Mobility Office (NMI) will notify students who have been awarded scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year and will hold an information day on further steps. Applications to partner institutions will only begin after this. The first step is for the HUFA Erasmus+ coordinator to nominate the students who have been awarded scholarships to the partner institutions. Applications without institutional nomination are invalid! Applicants can then compile their application materials based on the criteria provided by the host institution and send them to the host institution by the deadline.
- The list of eligible partner institutions can be downloaded from the call for applications.
- The partner institution evaluates the submitted portfolios and indicates which students it can accept. The place of the scholarship winner at the partner institution is only guaranteed if the response is positive.
- Before commencing studies abroad, it is mandatory to conclude a written Learning Agreement with agreed content. The activities carried out during the mobility period must fit into the student's training plan. The completion of the courses undertaken in the Learning Agreement is a contractual obligation of the student, and failure to do so for reasons attributable to the student may result in a reduction in the amount of support.
- In order for the scholarship to be awarded, a grant agreement must be concluded, specifying the period of support and the amount of support. The scholarship agreement cannot be concluded retroactively, i.e. the agreement must be concluded prior to departure.
- The sending institution is obliged to take into account all activities undertaken, completed and certified in the study contract.
- During their period abroad, students are still entitled to the study grant or other loans received from their home institution, and their financial obligations (payment of fees) remain in force.
- At the end of the study period, the host institution abroad must issue a certificate confirming the duration and results of the study programme completed.
6. SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS
The International Mobility Department will notify students of the award of scholarships via the Neptun system and will inform them of further steps to be taken by e-mail within two weeks of the application deadline. All scholarship holders will receive information on how to prepare their student reports by e-mail in the month of their return home.
