Hungarian-Malaysian Rectors' Forum

Hungarian-Malaysian Rectors' Forum
The 1st Malaysian-Hungarian Rectors' Forum was held between February 10 and 14, 2025, jointly organized by the Embassy of Hungary in Kuala Lumpur and the Hungarian Rectors' Conference. Representing our university at the event, which also included professional visits, was Rector Dr. István Erős.
The primary goal of the forum was to provide Hungarian university leaders with first-hand insights and experiences in one of Asia's most dynamically developing countries while fostering professional collaborations. The event was attended by around thirty institutional leaders from Malaysia, while Hungarian higher education institutions were represented by a 13-member delegation of the Hungarian Rectors' Conference (MRK), consisting mainly of rectors and vice-rectors.
The delegation visited several internationally renowned universities, including Sunway University and INTI International University. Particularly promising for our university was the establishment of connections with the Faculty of Fine Arts at UITM. Rector Erős gained insight into their academic programs and attended a major exhibition showcasing student works. During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed, laying the groundwork for the two institutions to jointly apply for the Erasmus+ KA 171 program.
Thus, the forum not only strengthened existing relationships but also opened up new opportunities for future international collaborations for the university.
